Beat The January Blues

Comment

January is the perfect time of year for you to start planning a sunny break for the whole family, so get comfortable and check out some of our hottest destinations for you to visit. Remember to stock up on sun lotion as you prepare for all the fun, sun, sea and sand that you can expect with a James Villa holiday.

Costa del Sol, Spain

A favourite with many holiday seekers, the Costa del Sol in Spain’s south still has some hidden parts for you and the family to uncover, which serve as a reminder of the area’s traditional roots. The nightlife here is contagious, and as the area was initially made up of fishing communities, you can be sure to find some mouth-watering seafood, including, of course, the classic Pescaíto frito (fried fish). As a well-travelled destination, the Costa del Sol is family friendly and there are a plethora of activities to enjoy, from natural caves to aqua parks. If it’s white sands you’re after, head to one of the many blue flag standard beaches that the area has to offer.

Gozo, Mediterranean Sea

Some of you may be after an idyllic, peaceful island holiday, so travel to the tropical island of Gozo, which sits within the Maltese archipelago. The soil here is incredibly fertile, meaning that the island maintains a luscious green landscape throughout much of the year, and the temperature here stays warm across all seasons. Known for having great outdoor activities, Gozo’s hilly landscape is perfect for cycling and family walks, and the cliff sides provide ample rock climbing spots. The living here is easy, and it won’t take you long to fall into the laid-back approach to life that Gozo’s locals are famous for.

Orlando, Florida

You’re never short of things to do in Orlando, with the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios just a short drive away from the majority of our villas. There are countless championship golf courses to tackle, and many of our villas come with courses attached. Eating and entertainment go hand in hand in Orlando, with dinner shows serving up live music, dancing and firework displays. When you need some down time, head to one of Orlando’s many picturesque beaches, or even venture away from the theme parks to go wildlife spotting in the Everglades, which will give you a glimpse into Florida’s amazing natural habitat.

Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt

When you fly into Sharm el Sheikh, you’ll see row upon row of luxury resorts hugging the coastline. In one of our villas that boast resort and spa facilities, all your needs will be catered for. The Red Sea is what draws many visitors to this part of Egypt, as its warm tropical waters are home to a wonderful array of fish, and the area is famous for its snorkelling and diving spots. The beaches here are world-renowned, and if you journey out past the resort, an excursion to the dramatic Sinai mountain range will provide a jaw-dropping look at the area’s staggering landscape.
